The Martin family came to us with a view — the Collinsville golf course sweeping downhill from the backyard — and a single design brief: build a pool that respects the outlook instead of blocking it.
The answer was the Compass Sanctuary 9.4m. The Sanctuary sits lower to the waterline than a lot of competing fibreglass shells, and its integrated sun-lounge shelf lets you settle at water level and take in the fairway rather than looking over a raised coping line. It reads as an extension of the backyard, not an object dropped into it.
Bi-Luminite for the Central QLD light
The finish is one of the Compass Bi-Luminite colours. Bi-Luminite is Compass’s dual-pigment system with reflective chips and an ArmourShield protective coat over the top — the colour shifts subtly through the day and holds against the strong Central Queensland sun rather than reading flat under direct light.
Vantage was the non-negotiable
Under the water we specified the full Vantage in-floor cleaning and circulation system. Vantage cleans the pool itself — no roving vacuum on a cord, no cleaning routine to remember. A network of recessed floor jets sweeps debris to a central drain while circulating sanitised water evenly through the shell.
On a rural site like Collinsville, where wind-blown dust and mature-tree leaf drop are constant, Vantage isn’t a luxury upgrade — it’s the single most valuable engineering decision you can make.
What Compass with Vantage really looks like
The Martin project is the install we point to when someone asks what a Compass Sanctuary with Vantage actually looks like at handover.
