Every other pool builder in Mackay had told the family it couldn’t be done.
The block was split-level with tight access — the kind of site where multiple site visits from other builders had ended in a polite decline. When they rang us, we started with the same site visit, but a different question: which pool in the Compass range would actually fit.
The Oasis was purpose-designed for this class of block
The answer was the Oasis 7m — part of the Compass Plunge Range. The Oasis is a narrow-beam shape purpose-designed for exactly this class of site: courtyard-scale, tight-access, split-level, and a shape that reads as bigger than its footprint. Its narrow width meant we could crane it in over the roof line rather than trying to truck it in through the side gate.
Ivory Shimmer for a busy site
Ivory Shimmer, from the Vivid colour range, was the family’s pick and it’s a good one for this site. Vivid pigments stay crisp under direct sun; Ivory Shimmer softens the vertical planes of the retaining walls behind the pool. On a busy suburban block with a lot of hard surfaces competing for attention, that softness helps.
Vantage on a tight lot
Under the water we specified the same Vantage in-floor cleaning and circulation system that goes into pools three times the size. On a tight lot the last thing anyone wants to store is a manual vacuum with a fifteen-metre cord. Vantage runs invisibly through recessed floor jets.
Aggregate with glow stones and pool-perf fencing
Around the pool we ran porcelain coping and an exposed-aggregate concrete surround with glow stones seeded into the mix, so the whole surround lights up softly after dark. Pool-perf fencing keeps sightlines open across the two levels of the block.
