Ultra-sensitive trigger
Opens at a fraction of the pressure required to open a standard valve. Protection engages before damage begins.
HydroPro™ is the world's first — and still only — patented automatic hydrostatic relief valve backed by a lifetime warranty. Every Compass pool we install is protected by it. It handles the one type of pool damage your home insurance doesn't cover.
Groundwater is the pool problem that nobody talks about until it happens. When water levels in the ground rise higher than the water level in your pool — during a big wet, a cyclone, or extended flooding — the pool tries to float. Like a boat. As the groundwater subsides, the uneven release of pressure can leave your pool with permanent bulges, cracks, or structural movement.
It affects concrete and fibreglass pools equally. It's excluded from almost every home insurance policy in Australia. And in every pool manufacturer's warranty except one, it's excluded there too. HydroPro™ is Compass's answer — an automatic hydrostatic relief valve that releases groundwater pressure five times faster than the industry standard, and is backed by a lifetime warranty against exactly this failure mode.
The valve was engineered specifically because standard hydrostatic protection isn't enough for the extreme rainfall Mackay and the Isaac region see.
Opens at a fraction of the pressure required to open a standard valve. Protection engages before damage begins.
When rainfall is heavy, the valve needs to release volume fast. HydroPro™ moves five times more water per second than industry standard.
The valve mechanism itself is proprietary — no other pool manufacturer has the same technology under any name.
Compass warrants against hydrostatic damage for the life of the pool. As far as we know, no other fibreglass manufacturer offers this.
It's what happens when groundwater rises higher than your pool's water level. The pool naturally wants to float — like a boat in water. If the imbalance persists, or if the groundwater falls unevenly afterwards, the shell can end up with permanent bulges, wall cracks, floor deformation or full structural movement. Both fibreglass and concrete pools are vulnerable to it.
Almost never. Standard home and contents policies specifically exclude hydrostatic damage because it's classified as a natural-cause event rather than sudden accidental damage. Most fibreglass pool manufacturer warranties exclude it too. That's what makes HydroPro™ commercially unusual — it's the one type of pool damage that would otherwise be entirely out-of-pocket.
A patented automatic hydrostatic relief valve developed exclusively by Compass Pools. It's installed in every Compass in-ground pool as standard, and it releases rising groundwater pressure at roughly five times the rate of the standard industry-approved valve. That difference matters when heavy rainfall or a cyclonic event moves the water table fast.
Every in-ground installation, yes — standard, no upgrade required. It's not a premium tier feature. Every Mackay family we install for gets the same lifetime-warranted protection against hydrostatic damage as every other Compass owner in Australia.
It covers structural damage to the pool shell caused by hydrostatic pressure — the failure modes that home insurance won't touch and other manufacturers' warranties exclude. On Bi-Luminite pools the coverage is lifetime, transferable to new owners for up to 25 years. On Vivid pools it's the same failure protected on its own warranty terms.
Australian standards require every in-ground pool to have a basic hydrostatic relief valve. But the standard-issue valve has a much lower flow rate and a less sensitive trigger than HydroPro™ — meaning in a significant groundwater event, the valve may not open fast enough or move enough water to prevent damage. HydroPro™ was engineered specifically to address that gap, and it's the only valve on the market backed by a lifetime warranty.
